The Japanese Education System

The Japanese education system will be implemented as a pilot project in 10 more schools.

On Sunday, February 23, 2025, with the presence of the honorable Minister of Education, Dr. Alan Hama Saeed, along with senior officials from the ministry, educational advisors, and the General Director of Education in Erbil, Mr. Luqman Saeed Sidiq, a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Hiroshi Suzuki, head of the JICA office in Iraq, and Professor Hiroshi Sogita, a professor at Kokugakuin University, an academic expert, and a leading figure in education, as well as the director of the Japanese organization (IVY) in Erbil, attended the event. Teachers and education specialists also participated.

Following the completion of a training program in seven schools in Erbil province, aimed at familiarizing educators with the Japanese education system and its teaching methodologies, this system is now being expanded. Previously, the system was tested and successfully implemented in Egypt, yielding positive results.

In this new phase, the General Directorate of Education in Erbil has decided to include 10 additional schools in the program, and the (Barzani Namir Educational Complex) will be one of these new schools. The goal of this initiative is to fully integrate the expertise and methodologies of the Japanese education system, which emphasizes collaboration, practical learning, and leadership development.
