Evaluating and accrediting educational institutions from kindergarten to high school

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, a meeting took place with Burhan Argushi, Advisor of the Ministry, alongside General Directors and educational supervisors from Erbil, Duhok, Sulaimani, Zakho, and Garmian. Participants also included Dr. Randall, Rector of the American University in Duhok; Dr. Hunar, Vice Rector and Director of the American International School; Dr. Shireen, Principal of the American International School; Ms. Christine, a professor at the American University; and Dr. Abdulsalam Madani, Advisor of Kurdistan Regional Government Rectorship.
The meeting addressed draft standards prepared by the Accreditation Board, which aim to establish a framework for evaluating and accrediting educational institutions from kindergarten to high school. Additionally, a draft was presented to outline the key skills to be integrated into the curriculum at various educational stages.
After the presentation, attendees shared their perspectives on the standards. Also, feedback from Ministry representatives was gathered to ensure the alignment of the standards to the needs and realities of schools in Kurdistan Region..
