Congratulations to the outstanding athlete “Sahand Shams Aldin Kamal” for this great achievement, which is a tremendous source of pride for the sports community in Kurdistan and Iraq.
Sahand Shams Aldin Kamal, an eighth-grade student at Barzani Namir Educational Complex and a taekwondo athlete, has made a historic achievement for Kurdistan and Iraq. At the (Al-Fujairah International World 13 Taekwondo Championship), held in the United Arab Emirates with the participation of 76 countries worldwide and 20 Arab nations, he succeeded in winning first place and the gold medal in the 65-kilogram weight category at the junior level.
It is worth noting that this marks the first time in the history of this championship that an athlete from Kurdistan and Iraq has won a medal.
Concurrently, the (Arab Cup Championship) will take place from February 6, 2026, to February 10, 2026.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
