Arab International Chemistry Olympiad

An examination for students participating in the Arab International Chemistry Olympiad was held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the (Barzani Namir) Educational Complex in Erbil. The event was attended by Mr. Luqman Saeed Siddiq, Director General of the General Directorate of Erbil Education and representative of the Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government; Ms. Raghda Al-Dajili, the Head of Iraqi Chemists; Dr. Saad Ahmed Ziab, Director of the Office of the Iraqi Minister of Education; the Supervisory Board; the Chairman and members of the Olympian Science Committee; and the heads of unions from Kirkuk and Nineveh provinces.
This examination marked the resumption of the Arab International Chemistry Olympiad after a 56-year hiatus. Students from across the Federal Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, including participants from Erbil, Duhok, Sulaimani, Nineveh, and Kirkuk, competed in the event. At the conclusion of the examination, a student from Sulaimani Province in the Kurdistan Region achieved the highest score and secured first place. This accomplishment brought immense joy and pride to all attendees.
