A Rising Talent from Barzani Namir Educational Complex Shines on the World Stage

The World Taekwondo Championship, hosted in the United Arab Emirates, brought together 94 teams and over 900 competitors in a display of elite martial arts skill. Among them, “Sahand Shamsaddin” a seventh-grade student of the (Barzani Namir Educational Complex) competed in the 65 kg youth division proudly representing the Iraqi national team.
Demonstrating remarkable prowess and discipline, Sahand secured victory in two consecutive matches, earning an impressive fifth-place ranking globally . His performance has not only elevated his standing in the international taekwondo community but has also drawn the attention of key figures in the sport.

Expressing astonishment at Sahand’s exceptional abilities, the President of the World Taekwondo Federation remarked, “I find it hard to believe that Sahand is training in Iraq his skill level is extraordinarily high”.
